Since Steve was a kid, audio and video have been his passion. He was always tinkering with whatever he could get his hands on. He would collect old AV equipment and see how it worked.

Steve started working at Best Buy selling car stereos when he was 16.  This was about the coolest job ever for a 16-year-old kid. He learned a lot about car systems and how they work. He also developed the skills needed to provide a great customer experience. Steve was eventually promoted to supervise the home theater department.  This was an exciting time in the TV business, as HDTV was new to the market.  As part of the move over to home theater, he also spent some time as an installer putting together AV systems in customers’ homes. 

Steve later went on to work for Ultimate Electronics. He started as a salesperson and worked his way up to store manager.  Managing stores in both Sioux Falls and Kansas City, he demonstrated leadership and gained quality customer and industry expertise.

Steve has been with Mid States since 2011. He worked as an installer until 2020.  He’s been involved with projects big and small.  Steve has done everything from basic meeting rooms to rigging speakers in the Denny Sanford Premier Center!  After many years of installation, he moved to a sales position in 2020.  Steve says “Being an installer for many years has helped me be a better salesperson. Knowing the details of the installation process I can genuinely help uncover the customers’ needs and recommend the best solutions for their situation.”

He enjoys hanging out with his family, racing cars, and traveling in his free time.  They are always looking for new adventures.
