ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Mid States Audio & Video is in a unique position where we live somewhere in between the AV world and the IT world. Our industry is rapidly changing from analog to digital, including audio and video over gigabit networks, and we need more staff to continue growing. We are looking for an outgoing person who is able to configure managed switches and troubleshoot IP networks and also be able to assist in running cable and hanging speaker clusters and TVs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 

• Ability to talk with customers to gain information on their networks to allow integration

• Very good understanding of TCP/IP networking

• Configuring managed network switches, routers, VLANS, & WAPs

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair common hardware problems ( power supply, incorrect wiring, etc. )

• Knowledge of programming with the desire to learn more

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds when supporting installations or special requirements

• Ability to climb ladders, stoop, bend and reach for extended periods of time

• Ability to work independently and closely with other professionals

• Accountability for actions

• Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment

• Travel – Occasional travel throughout the Midwest with overnight stays will be expected 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• 2+ Year Degree in an IT field

• CompTIA A+

• CompTIA Network+

• AVIXA CTS

• Any Networking Certification i.e. Cisco, Extreme, etc.

• Understanding of POTS and VoIP phone systems.

• Crestron training
